  • AP U.S. History:  This course is designed to provide a college-level experience and preparation for the AP U.S. History Exam.  An emphasis is placed on interpreting documents, mastering a significant body of factual information, and writing critical essays.  More...

 

  • English Language and Composition: Throughout the year, we will engage in a college-level study of American writers of the 19th and 20th century and elements of literary composition. The literature that we read will offer a varied and informative portrait of American culture: from 1880-1960, from New York to Alaska.   • Precalculus:  Pre-Calculus provides students an honors-level study of trigonometry, advanced functions, analytic geometry, and data analysis in preparation for calculus. More...

     

  • Chemistry II:  This second-year Chemistry course builds on the concepts and skills introduced in Chemistry I and prepares students for the AP Chemistry exam at the end of the year.  More...

Enrichment Classes

  • Life Sports:  Life Sports teaches the value of healthy living and its impact on the quality of life through physical activity, appraisal of personal health, fitness and injury prevention, game skills, and the promotion of sportsmanship and self-confidence. More...

 

 

  • Service:  This year in Service, students discover the issues facing immigrants coming into the United States.  Stereotypes, misconceptions, and other issues that complicate the immigration process are discussed in depth. Students learn about the services available to immigrants and participate in various activities geared toward facilitating immigrant needs.  Ten hours of Service outside of school are required and are part of the final grade.

 

 

  • Elective:  In order to allow students to pursue their own passions and interests, students select on-line electives to take through Keystone National High School.  This accredited institution provides textbooks, on-line lessons, and assessments in a variety of different subjects.  Electives are designed to allow students to be independent learners and to round out their high school experience.
