The fourth grade Art curriculum focuses on artists and art movements. We examine techniques used by various artists and discuss how these techniques can be incorporated into the students’ work. This exploration and imitation help the students develop a style all their own. They discover ways to combine techniques, blend styles, and recognize which media emphasize their strengths. Throughout the year, the children also create several pieces of work that enhance and further the learning of content being covered in the core subjects.
