In Class: Introduction to Clay. Vocabulary, tips and techniques. Bring your fairy tale characters to life. Finish up your architectural drawings.
Homework: Bring in a hardcover children’s story book as a foundation for your clay pieces. We will look at acceptable examples in class.
Week of 11.10.08
In Class: Continue looking at history of architecture. Finish drawing your wooden structures and add value to your buildings.
Due next Tuesday 11/11 (approximate time - 45 minutes)
Homework: Complete preliminary work for the building you are designing. You need to find three small photos from the following website of three different characteristics that you want to include in your building. Please print these photos and glue into your classwork section of your sketchbook. Also record what building it is. You can choose characteristics from the following styles:
Ancient Egyptian
Ancient Greek
Ancient Roman
Middle Ages - Castles
Islamic
Romanesque
Gothic
Renaissance
Then do three preliminary drawings of your building design. (small sketches).
