Brown Bag Forums
Brown Bag forums give students a meaningful, personalized connection to Woodlawn. These forums are intended to create a sense of ownership for every student so that they feel a personal responsibility to the school and our community.
Meeting twice a month, faculty act as mentors and supporters to their small group of students. Students are engaged in activities that help them to get to know the school, their teachers, and their peers on a more personal level. Faculty work with the small groups on portfolio development, group activities like planning a school social from start to finish, community involvement, and a student handbook recreated through the eyes of students in video format. These activities and discussions teach students about collaboration, decision making, creative thinking, and human relations.
